Creating Posts

How to use the Before/After slider, add locations, and label images.

Creating a post on Demotect is all about showcasing transformation. Whether it is an architectural renovation, an urban comparison, or an AI-generated vision, our platform provides powerful tools to bring your ideas to life.

1. The Before & After Slider

Instead of uploading static images side-by-side, your post features a dynamic, interactive slider that users can drag back and forth.

  • Upload your original or "Before" image to the Left slot.
  • Upload your modified or "After" image to the Right slot.
  • Pro Tip: For the best visual effect, ensure both images are taken from the exact same perspective and have the same aspect ratio.

2. Captions, Labels & Voting

Provide context to your transformation using text and labels.

  • Caption: Describe the history, architectural style, or purpose behind the transformation. Type `@` to mention other users directly in the text!
  • Image Labels: Add short, punchy tags (up to 15 characters) directly onto your images (e.g., "1920", "2024", "Current", "Vision"). These labels will elegantly overlay your images in the feed.
  • Community Voting: Because every post has two sides, your image labels double as a Voting Poll! Viewers can click a button below your post to declare which side they prefer, filling a live progress bar.

3. Pinning to the Global Map

Make your post discoverable to the world by adding a location tag.

Use the location search bar in the composer to search for cities, addresses, or specific landmarks. Once added, your post will automatically generate a Map Pin on our Earth Map, allowing users exploring that geographical area to discover your work.

4. Image Credits & Copyright

Respecting intellectual property is crucial. If you took the photographs or created the renders yourself, you can skip this section entirely. However, if you are using images sourced from elsewhere, you must provide proper attribution.
