The Demotect Rules
Effective Date: April 18, 2026
1. Our Core Principle
Demotect is built to showcase the reality and the possibility of our physical world. Our rules exist to ensure that the platform remains a safe, authentic, and accurate place for architectural discussion, urban planning, and visual art.
2. Safety
- Violence and Harm: You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people. We also prohibit the glorification of violence.
- Harassment: You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. This includes using the map feature to target specific residences for harassment.
- Hateful Conduct: You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.
3. Privacy & Real-World Locations
Because Demotect uses an interactive global map, privacy is uniquely important.
- Private Information: You may not publish or post other people's private information (such as home phone numbers or unlisted residential addresses) without their express authorization and permission.
- Doxxing: Using the Map feature to expose the private residence of an individual for malicious purposes will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
4. Authenticity & Geospatial Integrity
We rely on our community to keep the map accurate and authentic.
- Map Vandalism: Intentionally pinning posts to incorrect geographical locations (e.g., pinning the Eiffel Tower in the Sahara Desert) is prohibited. Repeated offenses will lower your Cartographer Trust Score and may result in the revocation of your mapping privileges.
- AI Disclosure: If you use our AI Studio or third-party AI tools to alter a real-world location (the "After" image), you must accurately select the "AI Generated / Modified" license type to avoid misleading the public.
- Spam: You may not use Demotect's services for the purpose of spamming or artificially amplifying information.
5. Enforcement
If you violate these rules, we may take a range of enforcement actions. This includes decreasing your algorithmic reach, lowering your Trust Score, removing your posts from the Global Map, temporarily locking your account, or permanently suspending your account.
